A new three-axis, servo-driven beam robot for presses of up to 1000 tons has a payload capacity of 55 lb, horizontal stroke of 98 in., telescoping vertical stroke of 78 in., and strip stroke of 43 in. The new Axess 44 from Sepro America LLC is designed to be more affordable than other servo robots. It comes with a 10-in. touchscreen control with icon-driven software, onboard documentation, simple pick-and-place programming, and a joystick to steer the robot and fine-tune its movements. Programs can be stored onboard or on a USB memory stick.
