Moditec, a French maker of low-speed granulators (represented here by Plastec North America Inc., Miami, Fla.), is expanding its line with new small and large models that run at 25 rpm. The new Mini Goliath handles small sprues and runners. Said to be the smallest grinder on the market, it comes in two sizes: 5 x 4.5 in. with one cutter and 5 x 7 in. with two cutters. Just 19.3 in. tall, the Mini Goliath can be tucked under the chute of small presses.

Moditec also introduced the Bigger Line for grinding large or thick parts beside the press. Single- and twin-rotor models range from 19 x 16 in. to 29 x 33 in. The Bigger Line is also available with a third shaft, called the Masher, which precuts and orients long parts as they feed into the cutting chamber. If the rotor jams, the system automatically reverses the rotor to clear the jam and attempts to resume normal cutting.
