Cronoplast of Barcelona, Spain, producer of the Babyplast line of small injection presses, now offers a stand-alone injection unit that can transform any molding machine into a multi-component press. Babyplast is represented here by Cincinnati Milacron, Batavia, Ohio. The new Babyplast UAI unit is the same injection unit used on the company’s 6-ton micro-molder. The stand-alone injector is compact (18.5 x 10.3 x 19.5 mm), weighs 55 lb, and can be attached directly to the mold.

The unit has shot capacity of 15 or 25 cc, injection rate up to 75 mm/sec, and pressure to 38,330 psi. It comes with self-contained hydraulics and controls in a caster-mounted cabinet. It can store up to 100 tool settings, and operating parameters are displayed on a monochrome screen. The injection piston is monitored by a linear transducer. Pressure and speed can be adjusted manually.
