A new line of off-the-shelf components has been developed for the Spin Stack tooling of Gram Technology, Scottsdale, Ariz. Gram Technology of Denmark has partnered with Progressive Components, Wauconda, Ill., to supply standard components for Gram’s rotating center-stack technology. This development allows molders licensed by Gram to purchase the components to build their own molds. It also helps customers obtain replacement parts more quickly. Gram and Progressive are developing pre-engineered Spin Stack kits for single and multi-component tools, and they will provide joint engineering support to customers. The Spin Stack concept typically uses four-sided indexing core sets between the stationary and moving platens. The center stacks allow for multi-component molding that can incorporate in-mold decorating, coating, and/or assembly.
