Wilmington Machinery, Wilmington, N.C., has two new structural-foam systems dedicated to pallets. Both use “tandem”-style stack molds in which each mold half opens on alternate cycles while a part is filling and cooling in the other mold half. Wilmington’s Pallateer system is configured in an “L” shape with a side-entry robot to remove parts. Pallateer System PM-2 operates with a single stack mold and can produce up to 450,000 single-deck nestable pallets or 225,000 double-deck, two-piece pallets per year. Palleteer System PM-4 operates with two stack molds to make twice as many pallets per year. An even larger system is planned with double the output of the PM-4 system. These are complete turnkey systems.
