Anderson Associates Service Parts LLC, Enfield, Conn., a supplier of components for structural foam molding, has upgraded several of its products. Its positive in-line shut-off valves have been improved for better control of shot size from accumulator-type, multi-nozzle machines. Tighter control reportedly cuts down on short shots and scrap generation. In addition, the AA series nozzle tips now are said to give better control of material flow with less turbulence and less separation of blowing agent from the resin, yielding more uniform parts. Also, redesigned nitrogen gas valves for two-stage plasticating barrels close with a tighter seal. Anderson’s manifold extensions are now offered in a tubular design that allows more efficient use of heaters and reduces weight.
