Responding to the requirements for ultra-small printing capabilities from manufacturers of electronic components, cable and other industries, Videojet Technologies, Chicago, has developed two high-quality inkjet micro printers with advanced uptime. Boasting enhanced micro printing capabilities, the 1650 High Resolution (HR) and 1620 HR Continuous Inkjet (CIJ) reportedly achieve high-resolution, quality printing of characters as small as 0.66 mm (0.026 in.) in height, and speed of up to 348 meters/min (1142 ft.).

Even more data is accommodated by a 40-micron nozzle which enables these printing systems to print 2D bar codes and highly-legible alphanumeric multiline codes at high speeds on products with limited printing space such as integrated circuits and small-diameter cables, optimizing traceability for manufactures without compromising line productivity. Both HR systems feature Videojet patented CleanFlow technology, which reduces ink build-up on nozzle ends, allowing these units to run longer than traditional micro printing systems. The CIJ units include several proprietary technologies including Precision Ink Drop, which is said to allow the nozzle to operate at over 100,000 drops/sec. and is combined with sophisticated software to provide optimal code quality.http://www.videojet.com
