Intertape Polymer Group, Bradenton, Fla., recently introduced a new five-layer, single-sided cling wrap for machine pallet wrap. Called Genesys, it reportedly achieves stretch ratios of 250% to 350% while starting with film 10% to 20% thinner than conventional stretch film. Suppose a customer uses 40,000 lb/yr of 20-in.-wide, 80-gauge Genesys film stretched 200%. Stretching the same film 275% would save 7000 lb/yr of film or 17.5%. Greater stretch and strength are achieved by improved resin formulation and new process controls, Intertape says. Genesys films are made at Intertape's Danville, Va., plant. They come 20 and 30 in. wide in four gauges from 50 to 95, designed to replace conventional stretch films of 55 to 120 gauge. Tel: (941) 725-5788 . www.intertapepolymer.com
