Coming at the end of October is the release of Visi 21 CAD/CAM software from Vero Software of the U.K. (U.S. office in Forest Lake, Minn.). Updated CAD developments include new technology for managing multiple instances of the same geometry. For example, multi-insert molds and dies can now be managed simply with a single reference part, any modifications to which will automatically update all instances of the same geometry.

The forthcoming release also includes kinematic (motion) simulation tools for previewing the movement of tooling parts. This is useful in checking for collisions of slides, cams, and lifters during operation of the mold.

Vero Software recently became part of Hexagon AB of Sweden and a division of Hexagon Metrology, a global provider of design, measurement, and visualization technologies.
