A new twin-bore capillary rheometer with a new software package is said to enable users to make fast, accurate rheological measurements on a wide range of materials. Developed by U.K.’s Imatek Ltd., the R6000 instrument and RheoSolve software are newly available in North America from Rheometer Services, Inc., Ocean, N.J. Shear and extensional properties can be measured at shear rates representative of normal extrusion or molding. Options include measurement of die swell, melt strength, and thermal conductivity. R6000 has H-frame construction, drive-force capacity of 100 kN, and twin bores of 15 mm diam. RheoSolve software configures experiments and analyzes results. It can be used in standalone mode for off-line analysis. (732) 922-8899 • www.rheometerservices.com

Solving problems generally requires distinguishing good samples from bad ones. But that can become clumsy when one person runs the test while another analyzes the data.
