Century Extrusion, Traverse City, Mich., and sister company Ruiya Extrusion in China have cooperated on building the new Apex line of corotating twin-screwextruders. Century makes the screws, barrels, and drive shafts in the U.S.; Ruiya builds the frames, cooling systems, and water manifold. The machines are assembled in the country of final destination. The Apex line comes in four sizes and in U.S. and Chinese versions. The U.S. version comes with center distances of 40, 58, 70, and 92 mm; the Chinese with center distances of 52, 65, 75, and 95 mm. The first machine built is an Apex 40, which comes to Century’s lab in August. (231) 947-6400 • www.centuryextrusion.com
