A universal sheet-clamping system has been upgraded to provide greater durability, reduced setup time, and adaptability to materials such as TPO and laminates. Available from NescCo, Inc., div. of thermoforming machine maker AVT Inc., Gladwin, Mich., the clamping system now comes with cup seals instead of o-rings for better tolerances, plus increased clamping power, longer life, and lower maintenance costs (120,000 dry cycles with no damage). Setup time is said to be reduced 50% to 85%. It has more cylinders per foot for greater clamping capacity. The system also features automatic coupling and locking plus fully integrated air lines and intermediate frames that eliminate the need for additional parts.
