New tabletop universal testing machines can operate with single or dual columns and horizontal (shown) or vertical column configurations. Introduced by Admet Inc., Norwood, Mass., the eXpert 560x line has a force range from less than 1 lb to 1000 lb and testing speeds up to 25 in./min. It replaces Admet’s 450x line and is designed to work with the company’s new, low-cost eP digital controller or MTest Windows-based software to control and record tensile, flexural, and compression tests. The detachable controller allows the 560x to be used in temperature chambers.
