WEB EXCLUSIVE At the NPE show next month, Wittmann Battenfeld, Torrington, Conn., will show the new Drymax E Series, the latest version of its Drymax twin-bed central dryers. They have new pneumatic switchover valves for faster changes between desiccant beds. This helps improve process stability, Wittmann says. The valves use only a tiny amount of compressed air. Also important to preventing temperature and dewpoint spikes during bed changeover is the proprietary SmoothShift function, inherited from previous Drymax models, which provides a sliding changeover and a stable process. Wittmann claims its Drymax E models consume roughly half as much energy/lb of resin as typical wheel dryers. (860) 496-9603 * www.wittmann-ct.com
