A new quick-cut trim tool from Commodore Technology, Bloomfield, N.Y., features a polyurethane punch plate on the moving side for faster trimming of PS foam trays. Introduced at NPE, the tool is a serrated steel-rule die that replaces an aluminum punch as well as traditional punch and die tools. The new trim tool reportedly permits cleaner cuts and closer part spacing than typical punch or die systems. The tool is light and easy to handle and can be maintained by the user.
