Enhanced performance and ease of use are claimed to result from new or upgraded features on the latest version of the eDART process controller from RJG Inc., Traverse City, Mich. The internal CPU operates at more than double the speed of the previous system, which facilitates complex processing applications such as high cavitation or valve-gate control. Software start-up time is shorter and a larger number of sensors can be monitored and controlled. The controller has a new auto-reject feature added to the diverter controls that automatically rejects a user-set number of parts during press start-up. New software for the RJG Insight server allows users to view the status of all their networked eDART systems on the web. Users can view cycle graphs, summary graphs, and machine status information in real time. RJG has now placed mold-maintenance fi les on the server. The software allows users to delete unused molds, add new molds, or rename them. RJG also enhanced its System Overview software to display more information-such as alarm states-about the eDART units in a network, and it can launch a new Data Extractor tool to retrieve data from a selected controller.
