A new series of hot-runner valve gates for use with abrasive compounds, semi-crystalline engineering resins, and general-purpose thermoplastics comes from Manner International LP, Lawrenceville, Ga. Its new Multi Combi Nozzle (MCN), introduced at last year’s IPF show in Tokyo, have a standard Manner nozzle body with custom tips tailored for specific applications. All four model types in the MCN series are said to deliver minimal pressure drop and low wear. They have been upgraded to deliver an improved temperature profile. A fine tip thread prevents leakage, while a titanium ring brings less heat transfer. The Manner MCN-W valve-gate nozzle is made with highly wear-resistant materials for use with abrasive resins. MCN-H type is suited to processing crystalline engineering resins at high temperatures and with long hold times. MCN-S nozzles target standard thermoplastics, and the MCN-I line is for polyester and other parts with a superior surface.
