Valve Gates Make No Mark on Engineering Resins

Zero-vestige parts made with filled or unfilled engineering resins reportedly can be produced with a new valve-gate hot-runner system line from Polyshot Inc., West Henrietta, N.Y. Its new MS75VG system comes with up to 96 nozzles and a variety of manifold shapes. All systems are pre-assembled and heat tested, and come with or without a complete hot-half assembly. The system has a new cylindrical valve pin that reportedly leaves a gate vestige as minimal as an ejector-pin mark. The design also eliminates the need for a tapered pin. The system is a four-component stacked assembly that has an independent valve cylinder and piston for each nozzle. The cylinders can be operated pneumatically or hydraulically. Access lines fed through holes in the top clamp plate reduce the need for hoses.
