A new corona-treating station with interchangeable magazines can operate as a bare-roll, covered-roll, or dual-dielectric system. The Pillar Universal corona treater will be exhibited at K 2007 next month by Pillar Technologies, Div. of ITW Surface Treatment, Hartland, Wis. Magazine electrodes on the Universal reportedly can be changed in a matter of seconds. Among the options: Stainless-steel segmented electrodes (3 to 12.5 mm), which allow operators using covered rolls to treat various web widths and "lane" treat while achieving higher treatment levels. Stainless fi nned electrodes, used with covered ground rolls for hard-to-treat, non-conductive materials with a fixed treating width. Ceramic round or square electrodes for treating metallized, thin, or sensitive substrates. Pillar is also exhibiting the new P6000 Series power supply, reportedly the most versatile available. It provides instant power and automatically adjusts itself to match any electrode style or dielectric material. It provides more than 4:1 load matching and a turndown ratio of 20:1.
