The Magna V line of vertical insert molding machines from Cincinnati Milacron, Batavia, Ohio, has been redesigned to improve setups, cycle time, and changeovers. New features include faster indexing of the rotary table due to higher torque motors, improved gearing, and better closed-loop control. New hydraulic parting-line adjustment reduces changeover time by setting nozzle height through the control as part of the mold setup file. Cycle time can be reduced by at least 2 sec, thanks to a safety gate with adjustable stroke that minimizes the gate travel distance on each cycle. This option maintains OSHA-approved coverage of the lower mold halves during operation. The Magna V line is offered in clamp forces from 30 to 280 tons with stationary, rotary, or shuttle tables and shot sizes from 0.7 to 54 oz.
