Extrusion Solutions
C.W. Brabender® Instruments, Inc. for over 85 years has manufactured testing equipment designed for measuring and recording viscosity, consistency, thermal stability, plasticity, rheology, extensibility, and processability of various polymers. Brabender® is the original manufacturer of the torque rheometer. The recording dynamometer system was developed by Carl W. Brabender in 1930. The first recording dynamometer unit was known as the Farinograph® and was manufactured for the Milling & Baking Industry to measure the consistency of dough. During the mid 1930's growing developments in the Chemical Industry required updated technology to define the processing characteristics of various polymers. The inventive solution to the growing concerns was met by Carl W. Brabender with the introduction of the Plastograph® -- a bold evolutionary leap built upon the roots of the Farinograph®. Since its early inception the Plastograph® has developed into the world-renowned Plasti-Corder® ...today's Plasti-Corder® torque rheometer utilizes the latest developments in CAN (Contoller Area Network) Field Bus Technology...

channel depth in larger machines, which exposes the material to less mechanical stress at comparable residence times.
From polymer characterization to on-line bottle or preform inspection, coordinate measuring, and color sensing, new testing and measuring instruments at the NPE show in Chicago were easier to use and more compact, yet often packed higher performance than earlier versions—and sometimes with a more attractive price tag.
Thermal and mechanical testers, color and appearance sensors, vision inspection devices and CMMs—the NPE had them all in more compact, economical, and easy-to-use models.
A corotating twin-screw lab extruder introduced to the U.S. at NPE is the first lab model from C.W.
Two new test instruments that extend the line of C.W.
The huge triennial plastics exhibition in June showcased new developments in product inspection and lab instruments for testing mechanical properties, melt rheology, weatherability, color, and appearance.
