As Seen In Plastics Technology
RECYCLING: Single-Shaft Shredder Series
Weima Maschinenbau GmbH in Germany presented its all-new WKS single-shaft shredder series with 1400, 1800, and 2200-mm working width.
WEIMA Group Celebrates 30 Years
Europe remains the strongest individual market followed by the U.S. WEIMA America generates a quarter of the company's overall earnings.
SPI: Time To Refocus Plastics Recycling Efforts
Only about 9% of plastic waste was recycled from the municipal solid waste stream in 2012, according to the latest figures available from the U.S.
RECYCLING AND SCRAP RECLAIM AT NPE: Higher Output with Less Waste And Lower Maintenance
Whether for commercial recycling or in-house scrap reclaim, new systems boast reduced maintenance, higher throughput, and less waste of resin for purging.
RECYCLING: Shredder Ideal for Hard Plastic Scrap, And More
At NPE 2015, WEIMA America will have on hand its latest shredders that handle a variety of types of plastic waste.
Recycling News at K 2013
New developments combine recycling and compounding in one step. Plenty of news at K in size reduction and de-labeling.
Auxiliaries at NPE: New Solutions from Material Preparation To Post-Mold Operations
There will be an extraordinary range of new auxiliary equipment on display at the show.
The NEW WEIMA E-Rotor
WEIMA America has introduced the new ?E-Rotor?
More Choices for Grinding, Shredding
Many granulators on display at the K 2007 show in Dusseldorf last October were big models—150 to 200 hp—to enable higher throughputs or reclaiming larger parts and chunks. For example, Rapid Granulator from Sweden brought out the 600 model, the largest in its “open-hearted” series, which allow fast access to all internal components. It has a 600-mm-diam. rotor, 100 mm more than the next largest size.
What to See at NPE 2006: Recycling and Scrap Reclaim
Recycling and reclamation are once again hot technologies—this time because of high resin prices.
K 2004 Wrap-Up on Recycling & Scrap Reclaim: Turn Trash to Cash with New Compactors, Shredders and Grinders
Topping recycling news at the latest giant K Show in Dusseldorf, Germany, were new compactor technologies for films and foams that can densify plastic waste for recycling and even mold finished parts—not just save space in a landfill.
From NPE 2000: Recycling & Scrap Reclaim
Recycled Resin Prices Flatten OutNew systems to process mixed plastic waste and to upgrade it with fiberglass or wood flour were prominent at last June’s show in Chicago.
New Granulators Galore at NPE
Processors with scrap to grind must have noticed the prominence of screenless granulators with distinctive hooked “S-rotor” blades at the NPE show in Chicago.
NPE Offered Extensive Line-Up Of New Granulators & Shredders
While most of the new granulators shown at NPE 2000 last month were beside-the-press models, there was also an accent on larger units with an appetite for tough hunks of large-diameter PVC pipe, bundles of textile fibers, and wads of molten bottle flash. Many are configured for “difficult” resins from engineering types to soft TP elastomers.
