BMCI and Owens Corning Form Venture

Bulk Molding Compounds Inc., West Chicago, Ill., and Owens Corning, Toledo, Ohio, have teamed up to expand the use of BMC composites.

Bulk Molding Compounds Inc., West Chicago, Ill., and Owens Corning, Toledo, Ohio, have teamed up to expand the use of BMC composites. Their new 50/50 joint venture, called FastTrack Applications Development LLC, is based at the former molding division of Rodgers Engineering Corp. in Addison, Ill., purchased by BMCI in 2005. FastTrack will concentrate on application development, part design, tool building, and prototyping. Two buildings total 50,000 sq ft and house 26 injection presses from 200 to 500 tons, four compression presses of 300 and 400 tons, and a 160-ton transfer press. FastTrack employs 135.
