WEB EXCLUSIVE: Carl Zeiss IMT, Maple Grove, Minn., opened its West Coast Tech Center in Irvine, Calif., last month. It provides application support, contract inspectin services, software training, and demonstration of Zeiss metrology equipment. The site has two instruments of interest to micro-molders: a Metrotom 1500 x-ray computed tomography (CT) system designed for very small, complex 3D parts; and the O-Inspect multi-sensor system for both tactile and optical scanning of parts that approach the micro size range.
