In an interview published on the K Show website, Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, president and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH said the show organizer was once again overwhelmed with interest in the triennial plastics event.

From January through May 31, 2015, the show accepted reservations for exhibit space, promptly selling out all 19 halls of the fairgrounds. “The demand for exhibition space has increased once again and all of the 19 halls at the Düsseldorf exhibition center are completely booked,” Dornscheidt said in the interview. “More than 3000 exhibitors from all five continents will take part and present their innovations. The spectrum of participating companies ranges from globally operating industrial groups to start-ups and covers all segments of the world market for polymers.”

K 2013 drew a total of 3,220 exhibitors from 59 countries, with 218,000 attendees hailing from more than 100 countries. Of those attendees, 82% were directly involved in investment decisions.

K 2016 will feature two U.S. Pavilions, organized by Messe Düsseldorf North America (MDNA) and co-sponsored by SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association. The organizers note that the pavilions “provide a cost-effective means for companies to enter into or to expand their business in the lucrative overseas marketplace.” As part of the pavilion’s turnkey rental package, companies will receive a fully furnished booth, access to a lounge area and the on-site service of a project manager, hostesses and interpreters.
