DSM Engineering of The Netherlands (U.S. office in Evansville, Ind.) is investing in its first North American polymerization plant for Akulon high-viscosity nylon 6 for flexible packaging and other extrusion applications.

Flexible films based on Akulon nylon 6 reportedly offer a strong barrier against oxygen and aromas along with exceptional mechanical strength and durability.
