Milacron Boosts Aftermarket Business
Milacron LLC, Batavia, Ohio, expanded its aftermarket business in extrusion last month with the purchase of American Extrusion Services.
Milacron LLC, Batavia, Ohio, expanded its aftermarket business in extrusion last month with the purchase of American Extrusion Services. Established about 25 years ago in Springboro, Ohio, American Extrusion focuses on rebuilds and replacements for extruder screws and barrels, gear boxes, and a variety of other components. AES’ staff will join the Milacron team and will stay in Springboro. David Allison, AES owner and president, will join Milacron as director of extrusion services. Allison will help “give Milacron a new offering for our customers —quick and effective extrusion machine and gearbox repair,” noted Dean Roberts, president of Aftermarket at Milacron
Aftermarket was a significant part of Milacron’s exhibit at October’s K 2013 show in Dusseldorf. There, the company showed off its PARTnership program. Processors that enroll in the program work with the machine builder to identify any unique parts they might have in their Milacron machine fleet, in order to facilitate maintenance. They also get price lists and current availability of any parts they might need. The program includes an interactive technical manual, interactive parts catalog, and remote monitoring services.
