WEB EXCLUSIVE Altuglas International, Philadelphia, has developed a new range of acrylic resins with greater chemical resistance. Altuglas CR 8 and Altuglas CR 12 offer good chemical resistance and impact resistance while Altuglas HCR 3 features very high chemical resistance, good thermal properties, and excellent surface hardness. The three grades are said to retain their transparency and durability. They can be extruded or injection molded and are recommended for bathroom fittings (meets the EN13559 standard), automotive body parts, and cosmetic packaging. Altuglas also recently launched a new acrylic with high flow and impact. Altuglas HFI 15 has been approved for lighting, building and construction, and automotive.
