A new robotic trimming/routing system from KMT Robotic Solutions Inc., Auburn Hills, Mich., is said to trim parts more than 50% faster than standard five-axis CNCs. The RoboTrim RT-1002 has a steel enclosure to keep personnel safely outside the operating area. The robotic router features a six-axis KMT AccuTrim R-44 robot (built by Fanuc) with a two-station rotating table and 1000-lb part and fixture capacity. The table can rotate 3 x 5 ft parts in and out of the cell in less than 3 sec. Finished parts can be safely unloaded while unfinished parts are being trimmed inside the cell. The router can be customized by adding a second robot or an automatic tool changer to trim cycle time and increase part-size capability. Tel: (248) 829-2800 • www.kmtgroup.com
