Fully Hydraulic Injection Molding Machine

In fully hydraulic injection molding machine all process relevant movements (recovery, injection, mold open/close) are executed via hydraulic motors, or pistons.

Since the motions are not as efficiently executed as with AEIMM (All Electric Injection Molding Machine), energy consumption is usually much higher compared to AEIMM. Newer hydraulic drive concepts however use servo motors to drive the pumps only when needed, hence dramatically reducing the energy usage of hydraulic injection molding machines. In some instances (e.g. core pulls are used) it can be possible for these types of machines to use less energy than AEIMM with a power pack.
