CVG (New Albany, Oh.) announced that its AdvancTEK division is investing more than $5 million in its Saltillo, Mexico facility, adding a 2700- and a 3100-ton injection molding machine. The division, which specializes in high-tonnage presses, is adding the large machines to its 97,000-ft2 IATF 16949 certified Injection Molding Center of Excellence. These presses will join two other injection molding machines installed earlier this year, with 11 total presses in the facility now ranging from 250 to 3500 tons.

In a release, the company said this new investment is connected to new business earned in non-commercial vehicle markets, from which it is working to diversify. The company said the machines will help the company meet sustainability goals, including high-efficiency processing, reduced energy consumption, and the ability to process recycled resins. The machines also feature more energy-efficient drives and actuation; automated part removal; fast tool-changeover features; and integrated scientific molding capabilities.

AdvancTEK’s Injection Molding Center of Excellence in Saltillo, Mexico now has 11 injection molding machines ranging in clamp force from 250 to 3500 tons.
