Dear Exhibitors, Partners, and Friends,

As we head into fall, we, at Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), hope that you, your family, friends, and co-workers have enjoyed a safe, healthy, and fulfilling summer. No one could have predicted that September 2020 would look the way it does, as our industry continues to make progress in fighting the pandemic and developing life-saving technologies and processes.

The plastics industry has remained strong and focused and so have we. Now, with eight months to go until NPE2021, our planning and adapting to this "new normal" continue to progress daily. Our partners at Freeman, the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), and Visit Orlando remain proactive in adopting critical health and safety measures moving forward. We have been receiving reports from Visit Orlando that after a spike in COVID-19 cases earlier this summer, the numbers are now trending in the right direction. And you, our exhibitors, continue to demonstrate confidence in NPE® with your commitment to the show and to the organization.

Tony Radoszewski, President & CEO of PLASTICS, has stayed busy this summer advocating for the plastics industry. He participated in a Congressional hearing in July, talked to numerous members, industry media, partners, and friends about how plastics are the greatest material created, and championed for member companies to be listed as "essential" in producing PPE for our frontline healthcare workers.

Please take a brief moment to hear his message to the industry on how NPE2021: The Plastics Show will be transforming tomorrow.

A message from PLASTICS President & CEO
At PLASTICS, we are committed to kicking off a strong and exciting NPE2021 next May where we will reconnect with the plastics industry, build and strengthen businesses, and re-engage with our friends and colleagues. But we know people are looking for answers about our plans to hold a live NPE show during this uncertain time, and we want to thank you, our exhibitor community, for your input in the process to this point. PLASTICS hears you and appreciates your feedback as we work towards a positive solution and explore options for the best path forward.

To that end, we are looking at how to continue to provide a vibrant and comprehensive marketplace for the end-to-end plastics supply chain to do business, including evaluating a potential hybrid virtual component to the show to complement the live event, driving additional exhibitor and attendee value by broadening the attendance reach for NPE. We anticipate being able to share more information about this in the coming weeks.

Until then, if you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at covid-19@npe.org. We will continue to monitor developments and post updates to the COVID-19 Resources and exhibitor COVID-19 Updates sections of NPE.org as new information becomes available.

With kind regards,
Tad McGwire
