OMV Technologies LLC, a global manufacturer of thermoforming machines, molds, and inline extrusion systems, has appointed Matthew Banach as vice president of sales and marketing.

Banach, a 36-yr plastics industry veteran, brings an extensive range of experience in thermoforming and extrusion technology and capital equipment sales leadership. He will manage the company’s global equipment sales effort, help establish North American service and training networks, and play an integral role in the development and introduction of OMV Technologies’ next generation of industry-leading extrusion, thermoforming, and tooling product lines.

Mark Strachan, CEO of OMV Technologies, said he has worked with Banach since 2014 as a customer and a training partner. “His depth and breadth of knowledge of the technology, his technical/analytical skills, intense focus on innovation, and deep desire to help customers solve problems is a perfect fit for OMV Technologies,” said Strachan.

Brooke Maltun, President of OMV Technologies, noted that like Strachan and Maltun, Banach has spent his entire career in the thermoforming packaging industry, including capital equipment manufacturing. “He shares our passion for the industry and his skills complement our team,” said Maltun. “He will play a critical role in our effort to grow OMV’s business in the U.S. and throughout the world.”

Prior to joining OMV, Banach spent 20 yr with global thermoforming packaging giants such as Pactiv, Solo Cup Company, and Dart Container. He also served 16 yr at world-class equipment and tooling companies including Processing Technologies International LLC (PTi), Eberle Manufacturing, and Future Mold Corp. where his roles included engineering, management, product development, manufacturing cost reduction/process improvement, sales, and marketing.

“I’m ecstatic to be joining OMV Technologies,” says Banach. “The company has offered cutting-edge thermoforming equipment innovations for over 60 years and is still the only thermoforming equipment company on the planet that designs and builds their own extrusion systems, thermoforming machinery, and tooling.” Banach added that being a part of the OMV team not only allows him to draw upon experience from his entire career, but it also “gets me back to my thermoforming roots.”

Plans include continuing to build machines and tooling in Italy and beefing up operations in both Italy and the U.S. OMV will open an extrusion thermoforming lab, a product development lab, and a training facility at its Florida headquarters. In addition, all U.S.-based parts and service operations have been relocated to the new Florida headquarters.
