OnRobot Opens U.S. Office in Dallas
Danish maker of grippers for collaborative robots has new U.S. headquarters.
OnRobot, a Danish manufacturer of electric grippers for collaborative robots, has opened its first U.S. headquarters in Dallas. The company (onrobot.com) supplies hardware and software for cobots from Universal Robots, Kuka, Fanuc and Yaskawa (see April Keeping Up). OnRobot recently acquired another Danish maker of cobot EOAT, Purple Robotics (see July Keeping Up).
An injection molding robot is no better than its end-of-arm tooling (EOAT). All the potential benefits of robots--increased productivity, quality, and safety, as well as reduced scrap--are influenced by the effectiveness with which the EOAT does its job. End-of-arm tooling may perform tasks as simple as sprue picking and demolding or as advanced as degating, insert loading, parts reorientation, and assembly.
