TotalEnergies USA Adds PLA to its North American Portfolio of Resins
Company becomes commercial rep of its TotalEnergies Corbion joint venture, a global leader of bioplastic PLA.
On April 1, 2023, TotalEnergies Petrochemicals & Refining USA, becomes the commercial representative of its TotalEnergies Corbion joint venture. Through this action, TotalEnergies adds bioplastic Luminy PLA (polylactic acid) to it portfolio of PP, PS, and PE offered in North America.
The company says this action is an important step in achieving its ambition to have 30% of its polymers to be circular in nature by 2030. Luminy PLA is compostable, recyclable—both mechanically and chemically, allowing for a significant reduction in carbon footprint and well suited to most applications in a variety of markets ranging from food packaging, consumer goods and food service ware to fibers and 3D printing.
