Xometry Adds Carbon to Its Network Platform
Xometry, an on-demand manufacturing network platform, announced that it will now offer Carbon DLS technology as a 3D printing process option. Customers can now get an instant quote, design feedback, and lead times for parts produced with Carbon DLS technology through the Xometry Instant Quoting Engine.
“We are very excited to add Carbon’s cutting-edge DLS technology to Xometry’s capabilities,” says Bill Cronin, Xometry’s Chief Revenue Officer. “Our additive customers have been asking us for it due to its reputation for speed and quality.”
Xometry will continue to offer the HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Stereolithography (SLA), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) and PolyJet additive manufacturing processes. All can be quoted in Xometry’s Instant Quoting Engine.
Plenty of companies are taking advantage 3D printing’s disruptive nature in the manufacturing space, but I came across an Amsterdam-based startup that is taking the disruptive concept even further.
Big Area Additive Manufacturing, or BAAM, is attracting entrepreneurs and machinery developers.
Bringing rapid prototyping capabilities in-house is becoming a reality for many plastics manufacturers, thanks to more affordable, faster, and easy-to-use 3D printers.
