Chem-Trend, Howell, Mich., has developed Lusin Lub O 32 F, which acts as both a release agent and lubricant for processing PET preforms and films, thus eliminating the need for multiple products. Externally applied Lusin Lub O 32 F is NSF H1 registered and EU (2002/72/EG) certified, making it suitable for manufacturing products that are subject to particularly strict food hygiene requirements. Lusin Lub O 32 F works as a release agent for most thermoplastics except polycarbonate. When used as a lubricant, it minimizes scratching during downstream processes. It can be applied to air conveyor systems to improve the transport efficiency of formed products, such as PET bottles. It contains no solvents, silicone, or halogens, and can be removed with water. It can be used at up to 390 F.
