The new FFG 920-ADV machine from Amut SpA in Italy (North American office in Woodbridge, Ont.) is the largest so far in Amut’s FFG series of in-line formers, which use “plug-and-play” tooling for complete tool changes in under 30 min.

The new FFG 920-ADV machine from Amut SpA in Italy (North American office in Woodbridge, Ont.) is the largest so far in Amut’s FFG series of in-line formers, which use “plug-and-play” tooling for complete tool changes in under 30 min. With 80-ton clamping force, it can thermoform PET trays with either separate steel-rule-die cutting or more accurate in-mold trimming without changing the forming area of 920 x 770 mm. The modular FFG can also integrate a fourth station to punch holes in ventilated packages like berry boxes. The first two units ship this month to recycler Global Plastics in Perris, Calif.
