A new ultra-high-viscosity nylon 6 offers high heat stability and impact strength for thermoforming applications such as automotive under-hood housings and shrouds. Nycoa 4212 HS from Nylon Corp. of America (Nycoa) Inc., Manchester, N.H., boasts superior melt strength, resulting in uniform and predictable sag during heating. The 30% glass-filled grade is targeted for applications requiring high stiffness, dimensional stability, and a greater service life than typical glassfilled nylon 6. The material can be extruded into sheet and thermoformed on existing machinery. Tel: (603) 627-5150 . www.nycoa.com
