A new beam-mounted, fi ve-axis servo robot has a dual servo wrist designed for part reorientation and degating operations. Model RT/F-1000S5 from Ranger Automation Systems Inc., Shrewsbury, Mass., has 360o wrist rotation, said to be useful for insert or overmolding operations. The robot is designed for presses from 300 to 1000 tons and can handle payloads up to 50 lb. It has individual servo motors for each axis of motion and speeds up to about 15 ft/sec.
