A complete "out-of-the-box" system for tension and compression testing is newly available from Instron Corp., Norwood, Mass. Model 3345 QC Package includes a 5 kN (1000 lbf) testing machine, the latest TouchPanel controller, 5kN tensile wedge grips, and two compression platens. Control screens are said to be intuitively easy to use and to eliminate the need for a PC, saving lab space. Quick Test mode is for simple, onetime tests, and Method-Based Testing mode is for structured, preconfi gured test routines.
