The BASF subsidiary trinamiX, which supplies mobile spectroscopy instruments, offers a handheld NIR device that now can identify standard PET vs. PETG copolyester. Both resins are used in blow molded packaging, so clean separation of the two is important for recycling. The upgraded Mobile NIR Spectroscopy Solution from trinamiX, which identifies more than 30 types of plastics, was displayed at the recent K 2022 show in Düsseldorf. trinamiX also launched a new web shop for simplified ordering: plasticsshop.trinamiXsensing.com.
