In-Mold Labeling Adjustment Head
Beck Automation says the new adjustment head targets production of small medical consumables packaging.
Swiss in-mold labeling (IML) and automation supplier Beck Automation AG (Oberengstringen) has launched a new adjustment head for precision label alignment. Targeting medical applications, the adjustment head fits under Beck’s recently created medical business unit.
Geared towards production of small packaging units of consumables for the medical market, the new adjustment head picks up individual labels and measures and aligns them in the desired position. Exact label alignment increases positioning accuracy and can reduce waste and manual fine adjustment.
In current IML systems, label positioning can change during operation, due to a number of possible factors, including a magazine change, label change, or within a label stack due to cutting tolerance discrepancies.
Beck Automation recently founded a separate business unit within the company to focus on medical applications. The company’s automation technologies comply with the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and are suitable for cleanrooms up to class ISO 7.
