Economics: In-Plant Recycling of Extruded and Molded Scrap for Improved Sustainability

August 01, 2023 |

Explore the economic aspects of in-plant recycling of extruded and molded scrap, emphasizing improved sustainability in manufacturing processes.

Extruded and molded product producers have three options for handling internal scrap: re-use, sell or dispose of it. No matter the choice, some type of reprocessing is either required or beneficial. This course covers the logistics, economics and processing technologies used for reprocessing extruded/molded products, emphasizing the integration of reclaimed materials into the final product and in-house recycling programs.

Sign up for this series from Vecoplan to learn how to utilize in-plant recycling in order to improve your sustainability. The sessions are at 2pm ET on August 1st, September 5th, and September 28th, 2023.

Not able to watch all three sessions live? You’ll receive the recordings of each shortly after the live broadcast.

Agenda:

  • Review the scrap being produced during the extrusion/molding process
  • Understand the economics and logistics of disposal, toll processing and sale of production scrap
  • Develop economic justifications for bringing scrap reprocessing capabilities in-house
