The metalworking and metal and polymer additive manufacturing collective formed in 2020 has purchased the 45-yr-old injection molder and moldmaker.
Addman Engineering LLC (Bonita Springs, Fl.), a provider of additive and traditional manufacturing technologies, has acquired injection molder and moldmaker Harbec Inc. (Rochester, N.Y.), with support for the transaction from private equity firm American Industrial Partners.
Founded in 1977, Harbec offers precision machining, with 3- to 7-axis CNC and EDM, as well as metal and polymer 3D printing, injection molding and moldmaking. Secondary operations include assembly, welding, painting, pad printing and hot stamping.
In a release, Joe Calmese, Addman CEO said Harbec’s injection molding expertise represents a new capability for Addman that will round out its plastics offerings. Built with a vision of sustainable manufacturing by founder and industry veteran, Bob Bechtold, Harbec’s 110,000-ft2 climate-controlled facility is carbon and water neutral with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certifications for environmental and energy policy.
