The University of Akron (UA) has become the first public university in Ohio to offer an undergraduate degree in Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering. This new Bachelor of Science program begins this coming fall as UA’s first undergraduate degree focused on polymers. Previously, such polymer degrees at UA were offered only to master’s and doctoral students. Students in the new program will have opportunities to specialize, for example, in sustainability, processing or biomaterials. They will have access to the 25 polymer-realted research labs in UA’s School of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering within the College of Engineering and Polymer Science.
