Chinaplas organizer Adsale announced on March 18 that the 2022 edition of the show, scheduled to take place April 25-28 at National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, has been postponed, with new dates and other details to be announced “soon”.

In a statement, Adsale said it made this decision, “In view of the latest COVID development and the further tightening of the pandemic control measures in Shanghai and other provinces of China, and to protect the health and safety of all show participants as well as to ensure the best participation results for our exhibitors and visitors.”

According to the World Health Organization, China had nearly 16,000 new cases over the last 24 hours on March 18, although its daily total number of cases has dropped by more than 50% over the last week. According to various news reports, the major industrial cities of Dongguan, Shenzhen, Changchu, Jilin City, and Langfang are completely shut down at this time.

On April 16, 2021, Chinaplas concluded the first post-pandemic international trade fair for the plastics and rubber industries. Held for the first time in Shenzhen, Chinaplas 2021 featured an exhibition area of more than 350,000 m2 , with 3576 exhibitors from 41 countries and regions. The show drew more than 150,000 visitors.
