PCS Company is introducing several new products, including black nitride ejector pins, the Airtect Plastic Leak Alarm system and the MCS hot runner temperature control systems.

MCS hot runner temperature control systems use the latest technology to precisely accelerate temperature control. Universally effective for the control of all standard hot runner systems, as well as for demanding high-performance applications, it features fast control response, improved intuitive operation and offers simplified controller functions. In addition, integrated interfaces optimize communication between the controller and injection molding machine, enabling faster error detection, analysis and feedback to reduce cost and downtime. Standard controller range is 6-120 zones. Molders can conveniently access data and control systems on-site or remotely, as needed.

Hardened-throughout ejector pins featuring black nitride surface treatment for high hardness for cleanroom, medical and challenging molding applications. Constructed from hot work steel with a core hardness of 48-55 HRC, the pins are capable of achieving hardnesses of up to 66-70 HRC when coated with the black nitride surface treatment. Available in 16 standard diameters and four standard lengths, the pins are also available in oversize options.

Airtect’s Plastic Leak Alarm systems provide 24-hour protection for hot runner systems or IMM injection nozzles. Users receive instant feedback from the direct protected area in the form of an alarm and/or the suspension of production, helping minimize damage and downtime. These systems are available in a variety of options depending on the customer’s needs. System accessories and spare parts are also available from PCS Company.

Another highlight is PCS’ new 0.750" integrally heated sprue bushings, which help shorten cycle times without compromising part quality. These exclusive small- to medium-volume bushings are ideal for use with a wide range of commodity resins. A streamlined flow channel terminates in a reverse taper gate, providing minimum pressure loss and enabling rapid gate freeze. Constructed from H13, the bushing is integrally heated, protecting the heater and replaceable thermocouple while also providing high heat transfer capabilities.

Gesswein’s mold & die micro-TIG welder U6 - 110V is said to put the latest micro-TIG welding capabilities right at the user’s fingertips. This device enables in-house mold repairs such as parting lines, mold seams, three-point corners and edges. Portable and easy to use, the unit comes pre-programmed for use on steel, aluminum and copper. Users can simply set the program for the particular mold repair operation and begin welding with the needed weld pulse and time lapse — it can be used to weld slides, ejectors and core pins, too. The system comes fully equipped with SMM microscope with articulating arm, LED light, electrode handpiece, a set of 10 0.6-mm, 10 0.8-mm and 10 1.0-mm electrodes, electrode sharpener, ground cables and argon gas regulator.

Finally, PCS Company is showcasing its complete line of Smartflow products, including mechanical flowmeters, mechanical flow regulators, low flow indicators and mold temperature regulators. In addition, PCS highlights the Smartflow custom manifold configurator, which puts the capability to build one’s own manifolds and choose specific accessories at customers’ fingertips.
