Dovernox solid hindered phenol antioxidants used as processing stabilizers for various polymers.
Doverphos liquid and solid organophosphites used as heat stabilizers for PVC, ABS, and polyolefins and also improve color stability in polyesters, polyurethanes, and alkyds.
Chlorinated paraffins include Chlorez resin grades (70% chlorine) and Paroil and Chloroflo liquid grades (30-70% chlorine). Liquid grades serve dual function of plasticizer and flame retardant in plastics and elastomers. Resin grades serve as low-cost flame-retardant extenders for chlorinated rubber, epoxies, etc. High halogen content offers maximum flame retardancy in polyolefins, urethanes, and unsaturated polyesters. Also Chlorez 700-SSNP, a 74% chlorine resin with ultra-high melt point of 320 F recommended for polyolefins and styrenics.
Doverphos liquid and solid organophosphites used as heat stabilizers for PVC, ABS, and polyolefins.
Paroil liquid chlorinated paraffins as secondary plasticizers for flexible PVC.
More economical, higher performing, sustainable, and more finely tailored to specific applications—those features summarize the key advantages claimed for new additives showcased at K 2013.
Wood-plastic composites, or WPCs, are already a 1.3-billion-lb market and are growing at 20% annually.
This year’s show will present such a large number of new polymer additives that only a few categories can be covered this month: antioxidants, halogen and non-halogen flame retardants, PVC heat stabilizers, and impact modifiers. Next month, we’ll report on new uv stabilizers, colorants, additive concentrates, lubricants, and more.
Several new developments in additives and polymers were unveiled at SPE's Polyolefins 2000 RETEC conference, held in Houston last month.
