Moretto Considers North American Assembly of Eureka Drying Technology
The Italian company's largest Eureka drying system is currently installed at an undisclosed North American customer.
Moretto SpA, Massanzago, Italy, which has installed 58 of its Eureka drying systems globally since their launch in 2010, with an additional 26 systems currently on order, anticipates greater business in the North American market going forward, enough so that in October 2014, it opened its own subsidiary in Columbus, Ohio.
According to company founder, Renato Moretto, its new presence in the U.S., which joins direct operations in Brazil, Germany, Poland and Turkey, could eventually expand to include "centralized" assembly of the systems, which are currently 100% manufactured between two sites in Italy.
The drying system, which includes the XMax dryer, Flowmatic control and OTX hopper, can range up to throughputs of 33,000 lb/hr of PET, which is one of its primary targets. Company representatives estimated that at this time of the systems installed globally, 50% are in PET textiles with the remaining 50% split between PET packaging and automotive applications.
